A Milestone in Community Health: The DEEP Trust Health Screening Camp

On the 24th of March, 2024, the DEEP Trust, in collaboration with Shri Kutchhi Mitra Mandal – Hyderabad Health Care Committee and Renova Soumya Cancer Center, orchestrated a landmark event in the realm of public health and preventative medicine. The Community Health Screening Camp held at Kutchhi Bhavan, Ramkote Edenbagh, Hyderabad, marked a significant stride towards the Trust’s vision of disease eradication through education and prevention. This blog post delves into the outcomes of the camp, the collaborative effort behind its success, and the profound impact it aims to imprint on community health.

The Inaugural Ceremony

The camp was inaugurated by Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of the Northeastern Region of India, setting a high note of governmental support and recognition for the initiative. With 162 participants, including 91 women and 71 men, the event exemplified community engagement and awareness.

Screening Highlights and Outcomes

Participants underwent comprehensive health screenings that included BMI checks, heart rate and blood pressure monitoring, X-Rays, Mammograms, and Pap Smears. The outcomes were telling:

X-Ray Screenings: Out of 71 participants, 3 cases were identified.
Pap Smear Tests: 74 women were tested, revealing 11 cases requiring further attention.
Mammogram Screenings: A total of 91 women underwent screenings, with 34 cases identified.
Hypertension Tests: All 162 participants were screened, resulting in 12 cases of hypertension.
These screenings underscored the camp’s critical role in early disease detection and prevention, a cornerstone in the DEEP Trust’s mission.

Beyond Screening: Education and Prevention

The DEEP Trust’s Community Health Screening Camp was more than a series of medical tests; it was an educational crusade, spreading awareness on vital health issues and preventative measures. The camp was a practical step towards realizing the Trust’s motto of Disease Eradication through Education and Prevention, drawing attention to the often-overlooked aspects of healthcare — early detection and informed prevention.

The success of the camp was made possible through the tireless efforts of volunteers, new doctors, special delegates, and the generous support of Sri Kutchhi Mitra Mandal – Hyderabad Health Care Committee and Renova Soumya Cancer Center. We are especially grateful to Yira AI, our tech partner, whose cutting-edge technology solutions were instrumental in streamlining the screening processes, managing data efficiently, and ensuring a smooth experience for all participants. Their innovative approach to healthcare technology significantly enhanced our capability to conduct comprehensive health screenings and manage the vast amount of health data collected during the camp.

The DEEP Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in making this event a milestone in community health advocacy. Moving forward, we aim to leverage the success of this camp to further our mission. With Yira.ai partnership, we are excited about the potential to incorporate more advanced technological solutions in our future health initiatives, thus expanding our reach and impact on community health.
